Africa ruled bt sick Leaders

By Rev. Steven Okhutu

Have you ever imagined why African leaders top the list of the most corrupt? Think about it.

In my early school days, my health science teacher emphasized the need for a balanced diet as the only solution for malnutrition. ‘A pot belly’ she said, “is a sign of poor feeding’. At first I took the message literally until of late when I realized the logic. It is funny to note that the people I used to envy are now on the list of those I despise most! You know in Africa we tend to think that these big, out of shape people are the rich lot and that the small ones are poor!
This may to some extent be true until one gets to know how those people are suffering from Obesity, Diabetics, Hypertension and many other related complications related to malnutrition –poor feeding!

Recently, in my media practice, I came in contact with the work of two prominent medical Doctors in Kampala that opened my eyes that I now write this.

Dr. Ian Clerk of Kampala international Hospital wrote in The New Vision, a state owned paper in Kampala that Africans are now suffering from diseases that affected Europe some 100 years ago due to ignorance. Diseases like Diabetics, hypertension and Ulcers are now fast spreading among Africans as a result of foods believed to be of a certain class of people.

Dr. David Ssali in his health lectures supports Dr. Clerk. He says that most of the foods eaten especially by the so-called ‘civilized’ Africans are so toxic that it is not even worth for a condemned prisoner. No wonder the lifespan of an average African has drastically dropped to at least 30 years.

It is a well kept secret among doctors that all factory processed food, poor cooked especially fried, loose the necessary food values and even the little that could have helped the body is destroyed by ethanol produced in the body. The end result is that the white blood cells and the digestive process is affected leaving the body poor or no immunity!

The poor digestive system caused by ‘dead’ food coupled with too much starch and low fibres causes constipation.
“Imagine a person eating some good kilogrammes of food in a day but only empties the bowel once in two days!” Dr. Ssali wonders adding that even then, only a quarter of what was consumed is emptied. The rest of the food remains hanging on the stomach walls causing more problems as the body fights to excrete.

Now take a close look of all the leaders in Africa, most of them are out of shape with bellies waiting to burst.
They spend most of their lifetime worrying about their health, ‘eating’ more tablets and other toxic medications and the valuable time spent in consulting doctors. What they do is only treating the symptom than the cause and at the end the problem is not solved.

Take note that these medical bills cost money. This means that because their hands are so close to public funds, they will not hesitate to embezzle them. They hide their miseries in European hospitals leaving their subjects with no infrastructures. A clear sign that even their brains are terribly affected –how can one fail to plan for his country because of his selfish interests!

But what can common man do? The modern doctors are busy making money from their so called medicines which they are personally not sure if they can cure! So more deaths are caused that lives saved with these modern medicines caused by the commercialization of medications! A lot of money is invested in lying to Africans that their crude medication –the ones tested some 1000 years ago and proved to useful without side effects are bad and the modern ones, which are scientifically proved to kill lives, are good to an African life.

It is common knowledge that most of the medicines that were used in Africa were more of food that medicines. Take note of the leaves. No one protests that chlorophyll is good for the body either in cleansing the body or blood. And this is natural without any artificial toxins.

Africa has now become a testing ground for biological weapons and at the end of the day the world detests it for its endless epidemics. But are these epidemics really natural? This is a question everybody should be asking if we are to find a solution.

Africa should stop eating for the sake of pleasing the neighbor and start eating to live.

The problem is not the diseases man suffers but the cause. We suffer because we do not know what, when and how to eat. I think the problem is constipation and body ethanol. So we should fight to empty the bowel and eat mostly organic food.

Funny enough we know what to do but commercial producers deceives us that eating toxins and behaving foolishly is a status signature for civilized people. The cost of being a fool!

Next time you think of curbing corruption, think of restoring African civilization. The traditional values that had rich hidden wisdom for even the European to understand. No wonder they called Africa a dark continent!

Unless we discover Africa, we still have centuries of sick people, corrupt leaders, poor nations and yes, the hungry greedy so called developed countries ready to grab the African rich resources.

As the sick leaders continue to depend on western medications to treat their ignorance, African remain on the mercy of God.

What will remain of Africa? Civilization gone! Wisdom gone! Wealth gone! No love, no respect no brotherhood! God bless Africa!

You Must have Pain

I have studied people suffering some even wishing they were dead, just because they feel some kind of pain.

The more I sympathized with them, the more I felt pain in my heart. No wonder, some people curse God when they reach this point.

I received so many prayer requests from people asking me to pray to God so that he can take away the pain.

But recently when I met a leprosy patient, I realized that nothing God created was short of importance and value.

Anyone who has ever lived with a leprosy patient knows what I am talking about: Life with wounds caused by lack of pain sensory nerves.

Like any other body sensations say, the sense of smell, the sense of sight, pain can also give the sensation of pleasure if studied well. Take a leprosy patient for instance; he suffers in life because his pain sensations are dead.

Phillip Yancey, Author of ‘Where is God when it hurts’ noted that a finger is sensitive to 3grams of pressure. But because it needs to be tough to withstand rigorous activities, it needs 300grams to produce painful sensations. So for this reason only, a carpenter will work, a Guitarist will also play without feeling pain!

But the Cornea of the eye due to its transparency, essential to admit only light rays, it has limited blood supply making it fragile. For instance, a small wound would cause total blindness. So the pain sensors in the cornea has an electronic hotline with the brain, according to Phillip.

Dr. Paul Brand of the ‘Gift of pain’ raises the theory of referred pain. He says that some times the problem may be too much or the pain sensors in that particular area may be dead. So the organ recruits a nearby sensor to sound the pain. Internal organs mainly do this. So sometimes perfectly health organs, say the head, shoulder, legs may feel the pain due to the sensations on the inner organs. Think of headaches during stress.

What is the remedy?
Pain itself is not a problem, but a sign {Messenger}. It is a form of body communication to tell you that something is wrong. It is better for the person to respond to the problem than cursing the messenger!

For instance, due to pressure of inflammation, an infected finger may become more sensitive to pain. The body is telling you to give it time to heal. So if instead of resting your infected finger, you only take painkillers and continue working with it wait for that finger to be amputated just because you failed to listen!

Dr. Brand wrote, ‘Pain is unpleasant enough to force us to withdraw our finger from a hot stove, a quality that only saves us from destruction’. So unless the signal demands response, we must not heed it.

What about suffering?
Think about any situation that has ever caused suffering in your life. Oh! How you feared!
We find that fear ids the primal response to suffering and yet, beyond doubt, it is also the greatest enemy of recovery [Gen: 3:7-11]. Fear is the greatest sin that the biblical disobedience of man caused to humankind.

Much of our suffering come due to a physical world that runs according to consistent natural laws and human freedom.

Man spends most of his time chasing happiness. Yet happiness recedes those who pursue her. It comes unexpectedly as a by-product for something you invest self in, including pain!
It is hard to imagine pleasure without pain!

We then create barriers against what we call wild animals. ‘But man is the only wild animal. It is man that has broken out, all the other animals are tamed following the rugged respectability of tribe and type’ G.K Chesterton.

As man tries to fear anything, including the gift of pain, he will do anything on earth in order to cover himself –including killing his own brethren.

A word to Christians
In my study, I discovered that Jesus in all his teachings emphasized faith, hope and love. In his ministry we see him going against some of the Jewish laws in order to restore love. For instance healing on Sabbath, feasting with people considered unclean among others. So brethren, if what you do does not reflect love to humanity, make sure you create room for peace and love so as to receive blessings and the abundant grace of the lord.

In Luke 14:11 Jesus said that for all those who make themselves great will be humbled and those who humble themselves will be made great. Also read Luke 12:22.
